3rd Day of Christmas

On the Third Day of Christmas i have a christmas card for you. It is actually a card that i made at a card in a box day with the Stampin' Up! team that i am part of called the Creative Stampers. These are always great days where we take along one card we have designed with enough supplies for everyone to make it and then we get to make one of each card that the other team members have designed. This great card was designed by Rachel Capps and i love the way she has used the Choo Choo set for Christmas. I think it is great idea and i have seen a few christmas cards using this set now. The card also uses the Spotlight on Christmas stamp set and some Chunky Glitter which has been added with a Two Way Glue Pen and gives the effect of snowflakes.

Sadly the Choo Choo set is only available until the end of this month, so if you would love to add it to your collection make sure you don't miss out.

2nd Day of Christmas

On the Second Day of Christmas i have a Christmas Card Voucher for you. Well it is really a card layout that i thought would be great for a voucher or an invitation and it uses the beautiful Ski Slope Designer Series Paper that is going to retire in just 3 short days. I will be sad to see this paper go, it has gorgeous colours.
I have also used my favourite Christmas stamp set, the Christmas Classics set.
I have added a bit of a decorative feature to the Scallop Circle by punching each scallop with the handheld 1/16" punch, it really makes a lot of difference.

If you would like me to make up a voucher for a loved one then give me a call or send me an email at Christies_stamps@yahoo.com.au

Decorated Box Frame

There are so many ways to decorate a photo. I pulled out this box frame that i bought possibley about 5 or more years ago when i was into paper toll. I thought it would be nice to put the kids daycare photo in and put up on the wall in our new house.
I thought starting simple was the key and i was happy with the outcome.
I used the colours in the photo to inspire me with the cololurs Sage Shadow and Pretty in Pink being drawn from the clothes the kids were wearing.
I placed a simple frame of Sage Shadow inside the white photo mat and then used some flowers from the Pretties Kit and some Pretty in Pink and Baja Breeze Felt Fusion Flower decorated with some Rhinestone Brads and Half Pearls.
Now the next big task will actually be getting hubby to put it on the wall!!

I have started to list my classes for next year on my Stampin' Up! website. I am really excited in the variety i have to offer. Did you know that you can be notified when i add new events to my calendar. All you need to do is to click on subscribe to my events on my Stampin' Up! site and it will send you a notification each time i list a new class. Simply visit www.christiewallace.stampinup.net

It is using a set that will soon be out in the new Summer Mini Catalogue called Butterfly Prints. Can you see the other new product? Yes it is a Butterfly Punch!!! You all know how i love my Flight of the Butterfly set so i was wrapped that we got this new punch.

Farm Scrap Page

This is a page i have been wanting to do for a few months. It is a page that was totally for me and i'm glad i had time during this busy season to do it.
We went to Fairfield City Farm for Tyson's 3rd Birthday and i have made a few farm animal punch cards so i thought i would incorporate them into a scrap page. I have drawn inspiration from everywhere here, with the punched clouds and fence coming from cards i have seen and the barn from another scrapbook page i came across whilst browsing the internet.
The On Board Letters have been coloured using the Real Red Classic Ink Pad.
Lots of punching on this card, my little boy loves it!

Supplies:
Mat Pack
Word Window Punch
1 3/8" circle Punch
1/2" circle Punch
1 3/4" circle Punch
Wide Oval Punch
Scallop Oval Punch
Trio Flower Punch
Scallop Circle Punch
5 Petal Flower Punch
Cropodile

Weekly Chrismas Idea - Covered Notebooks

Although i did a Christmas Scrap page on monday i have another christmas idea for you that i have just finished. These are some little notebooks that the kids will be giving their daycare teachers for christmas. I have used the Spiral Punch (which is one of the items available in the Christmas Extravaganza Promotion and only $20.95) on the gorgeous Ski Slope Designer Series Paper so that the paper fits the spiral bound notebook perfectly. I have then added some ribbon and some co-ordinating cardstock on the inside to finish off the books. The teachers initials in chipboard (On Board Letters) covered with Designer Series Paper and coated in Crystal Effects were added to the front of the notebooks for a personal touch.
If you love these notebooks they are really really easy to make. The Spiral Punch fits the Stampin' Up! On Board Journals perfectly. Buy them both and you are well on your way to earning a FREE punch in the Christmas Extravaganza Promotion. The Ski Slope Designer Series Paper is only available for 12 more days and then it will be gone forever. I have really enjoyed using this paper with its pretty combinations including one of my favourite colours Baja Breeze.
If you buy any of these items i will give you step by step instructions on how to cover these notebooks, email me at Christies_stamps@yahoo.com.au to place your order.

2009 Santa Photo Scrap Page -- I Wish Simply Scrappin' Kit

Yes you are reading correctly! I have done my 2009 Santa Photo Scrap Page (I haven't done my 2006 one though!). Last week we went into David Jones in the city to visit Santa. It ended up beinga family photo with my little girl clinging on to me for dear life and my son still not 100% BUT there were no tears!
I was happy with the photo and came home that night and whipped up the page using the Simply Scrappin' I Wish Kit. I love these kits because it only took me 10 minutes to finish and i was wrapped with the result.
I used the Textured Chocolate Chip and Real Red cardstock from the kit and then decorated using the die cut self adhesive stickers.
The Simply Scrappin' I Wish kit is one of the items in the Christmas Extravaganza promotion. Spend $85 on selected products and recieve a FREE Boho Flowers or Scallop Square Punch. See the promotion details on my Stampin' Up Web Page
Contact me today at Christies_Stamps@yahoo.com.au to place your order.

Starring You Congratulations Card

Last month we had a special on the Simply Elements Kits. I really enjoyed playing with these but what i really enjoyed more was the Starring You stamp set that i got at 25% off! It is fast becoming one of my favourite stamp sets. It's simple and stars are so versatile.
This time of year there are many people graduating high school and university (and some primary school kiddies as well). Today's card is a congratulations card i made last week for such an occassion.

I have used the Double Striped Grosgrain Ribbon as a feature in this card. Do you like how i punched out the base of the card using the Star Punch and then placed the ribbon behind it? Great effect huh? And another great way to use our punches! I have then used two of the stars i punched out and popped them up on Dimensionals on the card (use all of your scraps!!!).

The other thing i like about this card is the great effect you get when you use your Stampin' Write Markers to colour in stamps. It is so easy to get the two colours on the one stamp and just gives the card a bit of an extra lift. Did you know that our Stampin' Write Markers are specifically formulated to allow you to use them on your stamps? Well they are.

As a finishing touch i have added a Silver Jumbo Brad. These brads are in the Spring Mini Catalogue which has only 2 weeks to go. So if you would like to order anything from the mini catalogue make sure you email me at christies_stamps@yahoo.com.au so you don't miss out

Weekly Christmas Idea - Forest Friends Card

Versatility is a big consideration for alot of people when deciding which stamp set to buy. The Forest Friends stamp set is very versatile. Looking back on older blog posts you can see that i have made a very general card, a birthday card which could double as a baby card and now i have a christmas card for you.
This card didn't start out as a christmas card but when i stamped the tree i thought it looked very merry so that is what it turned into.
I have coloured the tree in using Chocolate Chip, Real Red and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers and have stamped them on Very Vanilla cardstock.
I have also used En Francais as a background stamped in Old Olive and the'Very Merry' greeting from the Short and Sweet stamp set (talk about versatility).
And doesn't the reindeer look so adorable! Did you realise that there is only 3 short weeks left to purchase the Forest Friends stamp set (Just $24.95). That's right, the Spring Mini Catalogue is ending on the 30th of November and this gorgeous set plus the Double Striped Grosgrain Ribbon that i have also used will not be available after that time.
If you would like to purchase anything from the mini catalogue then email me at Christies_stamps@yahoo.com.au

Cupcakes Birthday Card

When i first saw this cupcake wheel in the 2009-2010 Idea's Book and Catalogue, i knew i just HAD to have it!
I have used it for Alyssa's birthday cards and scrapbook layouts and i just whipped up this quick and super cute birthday card.
I have just wheeled the wheel and coloured in the cupcakes in the colours that i wanted using Stampin' Write markers. The dual tips of the markers were great in doing this because i had fine areas and larger areas to colour in so i used both ends.
I have also used the Scallop Oval Punch for the greeting and layered it onto cardstock cut with the Wide Oval Punch. Did you realise that this is the last month to order the Scallop Oval Punch. Yes that is right, the Spring Mini Catalogue will end of the 30th November and you won't be able to get the Scallop Oval Punch again unless it appears in the next Idea's Book and catalogue but that is 10 months away!
So if you would like to order a Scallop Oval Punch email me at Christies_Stamps@yahoo.com.au and i will get one to you right away.
The project recipe for this card is listed below, but note that the Chocolate Chip brad i have used is also Spring Mini Catalogue stock and will also not be available after the end of November.

Stepped Up Fifth Avenue Floral

Does this card look familiar to you? Well it should, especially those of you who attended the Girls Night In fundraiser. This card is the same as one we made on the night, i have just coloured in the flowers. I have used watercolour pencils and my blender pen and i was wrapped with the way it turned out. I love this stamp set and i really like this lovely feminine card. Thanks to my sideline Belinda Hennessey for the inspiration!

Weekly Christmas Project x2

Here are two christmas projects that i have made recently.
The first is a christmas card using the stars from the Christmas Classics set which i have stamped using the Encore Silver Ink Pad on Night of Navy card stock. I love the look of silver on a dark background especially the detail of the stamps in the Christmas Classics set. I have then stamped a greeting from the Many Merry Messages stamp set on Whisper White card stock and sponged the edges with Not Quite Navy Ink. Did you know that greetings that are swirly looking are more forgiving when you don't get them straight! (Now that is my kind of greeting!).
I have mounted the greeting on Not Quite Navy card stock and placed it on the Night of Navy base. I have then punched out a small silver star from the metallic silver card stock and placed a Blue Rhinestone brad in it from the Circle Ice Rhinestone Brad set. The silver star from the Christmas Classics set fits perfectly inside our Large Star Punch too and i have punched one of these out and also added a brad. I have then popped the stars up on dimensionals for a 3D effect. What do you think?

The second project is a bag of Christmas love notes using the Holly Jolly Christmas stamp set. I have cut 4 x 3" x 3" love notes from whisper white card stock and stamped the images using Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red Ink. I have placed some Holiday Wishes Designer Series Paper in the cellophane bag. These cellophane bags sold by Stampin' Up! are really crisp and allow our punches to punch straight through them. I have not found other bags that will allow punches through without ripping to be honest. Using the Word Window punch i have punched a hole in both the bag and DSP which adds a nice finish when tied with Riding Hood Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.
