Bird Punch Sneak Peak and a Big Thank You!

This is a bit of a sneak peak from the new mini catalogue that is going to be launched tomorrow.
Stampin' Up! have released new slimlined punches and one of the fabulous punches we have to offer in the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue is the 2-Step Bird Punch. Itis just fantastic and i have lots of bird creations to share with you in the coming weeks.
However this is a different spin on the bird punch and i have used the wings of the bird and the branch to create a bunch of tulips. (I was inspired by a card i saw from an American Demonstrator LeeAnn Greff, thanks LeeAnn!) The thank you sentiment is from the Say It with Scallops stamp set which i have punched out with the Scallop Square Punch.
There are a couple of other sneak peaks in this card too. Can you see what they are? The top note die from the Big Shot and yes the colour!

I just love this colour combination too. We have 3 great new In Colours to play with in this mini catalogue and Rich Razzelberry is by far my favourite. This combination of Rich Razzleberry, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White is just divine. I have used it a few times now.

Anyway there was a purpose to me posting this card today. Today is the last day of Sale-A-Bration. I have had a great time these last 3 months and i hope that all of my customers enjoyed getting some freebies too. It's the end of the Stampiin' Up! Year today too and my first full year as a demonstrator. I really have a ball, stampin' all the time and sharing it all with you! So thanks to everyone i have come into contact with, everyone in this world makes a difference.

Anyone for Ice Cream?

This is a scrapbook page i made of a recent experience up the river. The kids had Soft Serve Ice Cream for the First time. The layout was inspired by a current UStamp Masterchallenge. I have made the Ice Cream from sratch using the Circle Scissors and free handing the melting bits, with Fine Supernova Glitter for Chocolate Topping.
The cone is simply a Close to Cocoa triangle which i have crimped 2 ways to give it a bit of a waffle effect.
The background has been stamped with Seeing Spots and the journalling has been done on the recipe card from the From the Kitchen Of stamp set. This block is great for journalling, you can also omit the recipe part if it doesnt suit your page, but i decided to leave it in.

And have you noticed the Sneek Peak? Yes it is the title. I love love love the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet. It has both capitals and lowercase and comes with extras in a gorgeous box to fit all of your sizzlets in! I can see the uses of this for years and years to come with kids school projects and everything. It also has numbers!!!! which was a big bonus for me.
Would you like to check out the Alphabet set? Why don't you come to my Autumn Winter Mini Celebration on the 9th April at 7:30 pm? Can't make it? Book a workshop and we can work out the projects around what you want to see?

Time for Something New - Pony Party Invitation

Well i guess it is time that i gave you all a sneek peak of the new catalogue which comes out next week.
The 1st of April is a very special day - not only is it the first day of the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue but more importantly it is my little girl's birthday. We are having a small party for her on saturday and i thought that today i would share with you the invitation that i made for it.
It uses Pony Party a cute little girls set from the new catalouge and of course when i saw it i knew i had to have it for Alyssa's party and hence the theme of the party was born around the stamp set (do you expect anything less!!!). We are having a My Little Pony Party of course.
The pony comes with a whole lot of great accessories including the wings i have used here with Chunky Glitter.
I have also used the Starring You stamp set to emboss the silver stars in the background with silver cardstock for the invite greeting (which is from the Family Phrases stamp set) tag and the little hat.
I have used Pretty in Pink Tafetta Ribbon and a Designer Star Brad to embellish the invitation.
What do you think?

Don't forget my special offer which ends today! Get an extra 20% of product on top of any order!! Email me at Christies_stamps@yahoo.com.au with your order

Easter Egg Basket

I have made a whole heap of Easter Baskets this year. The day care teachers will be happy!
Here is one that was really easy to make. I just used my circle scissors for the bag, the wide oval punch on some Rasberry Tart Designer Series Paper for the eggs and the Outline Alphabet for the wording. Simple and cute!

Sweet Treat Flower Variations + MASSIVE Last Minute SAB Special

I wanted to make some different flowers with the Sweet Treat Cups. There are so many possibilties but 3 quick ones initially came to mind.
In the first card i have used one of the Die Cut Blooms again flowers. Did you know these flowers are already cut for you? And there is a variety of sizes so you can stack them on top of each other for a really lovely look, plus they are made from textured card stock.
I punched out the centre of one of the flowers with out 1 3/4" punch and then placed a Sweet Treat cup in the middle. The Flight of the Butterfly set was perfect to use with this card as the sayings are not only great for Butterflies but also to use as flower stems. I have done this using Whisper White Ink. I have then punched out one of the Butterflies stamped in Rose Red with the Butterfly Punch. The sentiment is one of the Chit Chat Rub Ons from the Summer Mini Catalogue.

The second card is made with some of the Rasberry Tart Designer Series Paper. I actually got rid of a whole heap of scraps by just punching out the paper with the Small Oval Punch and adhering them straight over the Sweet Treat Cup. Once again a Chit Chat Rub On for a sentiment.
The final card is made using the Pick A Petal stamp set. I have stamped the Polka Dot Petal in Rose Red on Whisper White card stock and punched each petal out with the Large Oval Punch.

The Sweet Treat Cups are so much fun!

There is only 10 days of Sale-a-Bration left! As a last minute special from now until this saturday i am offering all of my customers an extra 20% on top of their order for FREE. For example if you spend $100 you get to order $120 worth of product (plus with every $100 order you will also get a FREE SAB stamp set). Email me now with your order at Christies_stamps@yahoo.com.au

For Everything Bleaching Card

This is one of the cards we made at my recent Bleaching Techniques class. I was really pleased with the way this card turned out and its effectiveness. I have used Staz On Black ink and i have used my Scallop Square Punch coupled with the Say it with Scallops stamp set. I have also used one of my favourite Filigree brads. After the class they are all gone so i will have to order some more.
The colours used in this card are Basic Black, Pale Plumb and Pretty In Pink.

Butterfly Prints Yet Again

This is a card that i made as a make and take recently. It is very simple so great for beginners and uses the Butterfly Prints and the Butterfly Punches set from our current mini catalogue. It also uses the Chit Chat rub ons which are full of lots and lots of greetings in both chocolate chip and white. I have chosen the colour scheme of Chocolate Chip and Regal Rose for my card and have used some 5/8" Regal Rose Grosgrain Ribbon and the Scallop Edge Punch to finish off the card.

The second card i have for you today is a card i made to highlight the Poppin' Pastels technique for a recent workshop. Once again it features the Buttefly Prints set and the Buttefly punch but this time i have coupled it with the Hello Again stamp set and the Retro Remix wheel. I have first stamped everything in Versamark and then used my Stampin' Pastels to colour in. I have finished off the card with some Pretty in Pink Tafetta Ribbon and a ribbon threader from the Silver Hodgepodge hardward (another underutilised favourite!).

Hello Again - A Mini Snowglobe

As a demonstrator i sometimes participate in ATC (Artist Trading Card) Swaps. The most recent swap was a masking swap. I decided to do a mini version of my famous snowglobe. This time i have used the Hello Again stamp set and coloured it in with my markers. I love colouring this stamp set with Elegant Eggplant, Rose Red and Handsome Hunter, all part of the Rich Regals marker set. I have masked the snow globe using a 1 3/4" circle punch and sponged around the edges with Elegant Eggplant ink. I have then used the versamark with heat and stick powder, dazzling diamonds and my heating tool for the dazzling effect.

Since the snowglobe was so small i was able to use a large tag punch as my base with some Eggplant ribbon tied around the base. I have only recently bought Eggplant Ribbon and it is such a rich lovely colour, i don't know why i didnt get it sooner.

For something different in the background i have used my crimper to crimp some card stock and then added a lenght of sticky strip to it with some Dazzling Diamonds.
The card is finished off with a greeting with the Best Yet Level 1 hostess set punched with the tag punches.

Just a reminder that the Summer Mini Catalogue ends in a week and a half. So make sure you get your favourite stamp sets before they are no longer available. Also any $100 order qualifies for a FREE Sale-A-Bration set!

Out with the Old and In with the New - Inkspirations Challenge

I have managed to scrape in just in time for the Inkspirations Challenge this week. I have two really quick designs that i have whipped up for the challenge Makeesha set.

I had some of the Scallop Notecards and envelopes from the Summer Mini Catalogue that i wanted to use. These little cards are so quick to create and would be perfect for any type of little note that you wanted to send to someone - be it thanks, birthday or even and invite. I used the Butterfly Prints set and Butterfly Punch once again. I think it am trying to get as much use out of this before it retires! I used the Scallop Square Punch behind the butterfly and some of the White and Chocolate Chip Chit Chat rub ons (also from the Summer Mini) to add a sentiment. I also stamped the cards with a matching butterfly and they turned out quite cute.
The second card was also a quickie. I have been making lots of quick cards in the last few days. Do you notice anything different in this card? Something new perhaps? Yep that is right i have now got some of my Autumn Winter mini pre order and i have been making lots of things. This is a simple card that i made to fit in with the sketch challenge. What do you think?

Hello Again Post It Note Holder

Last Week i had a hostess who asked me to present some ideas for mothers day for her workshop. She particularly liked a post it note holder that she had seen at another of my workshops so i decided to do a different post it note holder as a make and take. This is the same format holder as one of the gifts i made for the guests at my Sale-A-Bration launch party. This time i have used the Rose Red and Elegant Eggplant colour scheme with the Hello Again set (available in the Summer Mini Catalogue). I love using my markers to colour in stamps and that is exactly what i have done here with the Rose Red, Handsome Hunter and Elegant Eggplant markers from the Rich Regals marker set.

I have then stamped a Butterfly from the Butterfly Prints set and simply punched it out with the Butterfly Punch. I will really miss this punch come the end of this month. It is only available until the end of March when sadly the Summer Mini Catalogue will end. So make sure you don't miss out and order yours today by emailing me at Christies_stamps@yahoo.com.au

Fun with Heart Punches

In doing what i love, i come across different ideas all the time and so i try to remember to try something new when i am playing around and making cards.
A while ago i came across flowers made with the Heart Punch and thought i would give it a try. This is what i came up with. Something a littel different and another way to use your Heart Punch! I have also used a few different accessories in these cards. The first card has one of the nice Pink Pirouette Buttons from the Sherbet Button set available in the current Summer Mini Catalogue. I have placed a small amount of Hemp Twin through the button and finished the card off with the beautiful Riding Hood Red Tafetta Ribbon. On the second card i have used all time favourite Filigree Brads (nice for any occassion), the 1 1/4" Pink Pirouette Ribbon tied off with some Hemp Twine and a Riding Hood Red Brad from the Button Bouquet set.

Now these cards weren't made using the I {Heart} Hearts set but i thought i would let you all know that Stampin' Up! donated $27000 (US) to the Red Cross Foundation for the Hearts for Haiti Appeal. Well done to Stampin' Up! and thank you to everyone who bought that set and helped out in the appeal.

Faux Woodgrain - Build A Roo

This is a card i made at a class i held recentley on male cards. I know that i do find it alot harder to make male cards so i spent some time making a heap of different cards that are perfect for the men in our lives. One of the techniques i taught on the night was Faux Woodgrain and this is the card i made to showcase that technique. The ladies who attended the class got to take home a technique tip sheet for the two techniques i taught that night as well as a male card tip sheet giving them lots of ideas for themes and layouts for male cards.
I thought i would share with you a tutorial on this card, so head on over to my Stampin' Up! Business website (www.christiewallace.stampinup.net) and learn how to make yourself a card using the Faux Woodgrain technique. I included this in my recent March Newletter, it is simple to sign up to my newsletter - just check out the sign up bar at the top of the page.

For Everything Card Set

Here are some really quick cards that i whipped up using the For Everything stamp set (available in the Summer Mini Catalogue) and some of the Chit Chat Rub Ons. I have also used the Kaleidascope Designer Series Paper making these cards completely from Summer Mini Catalogue items!
The For Everything set really lends itself to being used with Markers. Using the paint brush end of your markers on these stamps really makes them "pop". I was happy with the way they turned out - another bold brights creation from me!

Simply Scrappin' Kits

Here are a couple of other scrapbooking pages i have completed recently. The first is from christmas and i made this one with some of my last pieces of the I Wish Simply Scrappin Kit. I added some Chipboard Letters from the On Board Lots of Letters which i coloured with Real Red Ink - so easy and yet so effective.

The second page i love and is actually pictures from 3 and a half years ago when my whole world changed for the better and my beautiful son Tyson was born. I bought th Rock-A-Bye Boy Simply Scrappin kit to make a baby book for my best friend who is having a little boy soon . There was loads and loads of everything left over after i finished this book so i used some to make this page. I hope you like it as much as i do.
