Party This Way Scrapbooking

Well i can mark one thing off my scrapbooking list. I have finished all of Alyssa's birthday pages (yes you are right her birthday was 6 months ago) but you know how it gets....

I have two double pages to share with you today.
The first is a layout i did for the day of her birthday and i have used the set Party This Way. I have taken the colour scheme Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo and Regal Rose from a combination of Alyssa's clothes and the 12 x 12 card stock i had in my draw.
I think that the Just Perfect alphabet is 'just perfect' inside the Pennant stamp from the Party this way set. I have used this for the title of my page. I have used the Big Shot Ovals to do my journalling on which worked well with a stamped balloon. All of the balloons are hand cut and mounted on Dimensionals.

This second layout was actually done by my gorgeous upline and friend Merryl. Merryl has two boys and so when i sarcastically asked her to scrap Alyssa's birthday party she jumped at the chance. I was thrilled with her page which she made on the weekend away. Merryl is an amazing scrapbooker and her pages come together so quickly and you are classic and stunning. This picture is a bit small because i had to downsize to upload but Merryl even cut the little butterflies from the Pony Party set out and stuck them to Rhinestone Brads in the corner of the photos.

Picnic Anyone?

I have had the Lauren Meader Picnic Box tutorial laying around for well over a year. It's always been on the 'to do' list but you all know that list just seems to grow and never end!

I finally got around to making some and if you don't mind a fair bit of cutting out they really don't take that long at all.
I made two large ones using the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series paper and some smaller ones using the Cherry Cobbler card stock with matching Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper.

My upline Merryl got one of these boxes filled with some yummy Darryl Lea goodies for her birthday.

Simple Baby Tees Wheel Cards

I love the new Baby Tees jumbo wheel in the 2010-2011 New Ideas Book and Catalogue. For $15.95 what a great investment. You can use it as a wheel or just cut out the many different individual tees for a different great look. It is unisex which makes it even better.
Here are a couple of cards i have made recently. They are super simple.
The tees have been coloured in with my Stampin' Write Markers and stuck onto the cards using Dimensionals.
The first card i have embossed the top of the Marina Mist card stock with the Perfect Polkadot embossing folder. I have then layered the bottom of the card with Bashful Blue card stock popped on some yummy Daffodil Delight Tafetta Ribbon and added a greeting from the Short and Sweet Stamp set punched with the Word Window and layered onto the Modern Label punch. Took about 2 minutes all up!

The second card i have used three cut out Baby Tees which had been rolled onto Bashful Blue and marina Mist card stock and coloured in with Stampin' Write markers. I have embossed some Bashful Blue card stsock with Perfect Polka Dots (which are just perfect for baby cards) and sponged it with Marina Mist ink before layering it onto Marina Mist card stock. The tees needed some white behind them to stand out so i just used some Whisper White card stock and created a nice border using the Scallop Trim punch. The ribbon is Marina Mist Tafetta.

Christmas Blitz Day 7 - Christmas Rub Ons Card

This is a super simple card that i created using a single sheet of Cherry Cobler A5 card stock, the Holly & Jolly Rub Ons, some Old Olive Satin Ribbon, a co ordinating button and a sentiment from the Level 3 Hostess set Occassional Quotes.
It was so quick to make and i really love the Rub Ons. I have made a whole heap of christmas tags with them which i might share with you in my next Christmas Blitz.

Remember to leave me a comment and i will put you into the draw to win a pack of handmade cards. (Only open to Australian residents and not open to fellow demonstrators. Thanks)

Christmas Blitz - Day 6

Wow i am on Day 6 of my Christmas Blitz and i still have so much to share with you. I can feel another Christmas Blitz coming on in a few weeks.

Here are a few boxes. I hae made a couple of Milk cartons with the Big Shot Mini Milkcarton die. I have used the Classic Stars wheel to make a background on the Pear Pizzaz card stock. I have then used the Delightful Decorations set punched with various layered circles for the greeting. Tied with some ribbon at the top these cartons can be made less than 2 minutes.

I have then used some Window Sheets with the Fancy Favour XL Die to create some clear Fancy Favour Boxes. I have lined the favour boxes with Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper and decorated them with an ornament from the Delightful Decorations set punched out with the Ornament Punch (Don't forget the special on this combination on at the moment!).

Tomorrow will be the last day of my christmas blitz so i hope you have enjoyed it and that i have inspired you. Leave me a message and i will put all Aus residents into the draw to win a handmade card pack!

I have also used the Classic Stars Wheel and the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing folder in the background.

Christmas Blitz Day4 - Advent Calendar

This is an Advent Calendar i made with the Christmas Cheer Simply Scrappin Kit. When i saw all of those numbers an Advent Calendar immediately popped into my mind.
I have constructed this with 24 individual match boxes and covers and then attached 4 together in a line and stacked them. I then covered the 5 other sides leaving the match boxes free to open.
I have used some of the Designer Series Paper from the kit on the boxes as well and taken the colour scheme of Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist directly from the colours of the kit.
My son was quite excited and cant wait to open all the little boxes come christmas time

This is a card we made as a make and take at a workshop this past weekend. It uses the Delightful Decorations and the Heard From the Heart stamp sets. It uses two of our gorgeous new In Colours Poppy Parade and Pear Pizzaz.
The background has been embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.
Hope you liked it. Tomorrow i will have an Advent Calendar to share with you.

Christmas Blitz Day 2 - Christmas Ornament Cards

Welcome to Day 2 of my Christmas Blitz. Today i have for you some Christmas Ornament Cards. These cards were really simple. I placed a layer of the Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper on to some Very Vanilla card stock and cut two layers using the Circle Scissors. I then placed another thin strip of the DSP punched with the Scallop Trim Punch and a strip of co ordinating cardstock across the circle. I made the top of the ornament using the Tab Punch on some Cherry Cobbler card stock and threaded some Old Olive 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon through it.
The greeting finished the card off and is from the Contempo Christmas set, the star is from the Delightful Decoration stamp set.
If you notice in the photo i also made a similar ornament card using the Scallop Circle Big Shot Die. I decided i liked the plain circles better though.
What do you think?
Stay tuned tomorrow for another great card idea!

Christmas Blitz Day 1 - Tree Trimmings Ornament Christmas Card

Welcome to my Christmas Blitz. I have been making alot of different christmas cards and items lately and i thought i would share some of them with you in a one week Christmas Blitz. So every day this week i will share a project with you. Here is Day 1:

Here is a card i made using the new In Colour Pear Pizzaz, i have embossed a Whisper White Top Note cut out with Elegant Bouquet and used it as a tree branch. I have seen this a few times lately but i think the first place i saw it was on Jayne Mercer's blog. I have gently sponged over the embossing with Pear Pizzaz ink.
I used one of the small ornaments from the Tree Trimmings set so as not to overdo it. I stamped it in Rich Razzleberry which i have paired with Pear Pizzaz on the card. I really like the new 1/8" tafetta ribbon, it just adds a subtle touch needed on so many cards. I think i will be getting alot of use from this ribbon in so many different colours.
The greeting is from the Level 3 hostess set Ocassional Quotes which has some really great sayings in it. You can possibly earn this stamp set for FREE by hosting your own workshop (contact me if you would like to chat about it christies_stamps@yahoo.com.au). I have layered the greeting onto a cut out tag from the Lots of Tags set of 4 sizzlet dies.

I also have a range of Christmas cards that are suitable for stamp a stacks, so if you would like to arrange a group of friends and make a whole heap of christmas cards with me in your home then let me know.

Just Believe Fancy Favour

This is a Fancy Favour Box i made recently. I love Fancy Favour boxes because they come together so quickly and easily. I have also used the Scallop Trim punch for a bit of decoration

Pony Party Watercolour Card

This is another card i made for my recent watercolour class. It uses the Pony Party stamp set. I have stamped the image onto watercolour paper using Staz On Black ink and then coloured it in using various coloured Stampin' Write markers and my Blender Pen.

I have also used the gorgeous Beautiful Wings embosslits on this card. Ii find they are best stuck on with mini glue dots and then you can pop up the wings as if the butterflies are flying.

Cards made to order

Recently i have had to make a few specific cards for people that have asked. I thought i would share a few with you here.
I made this gorgeous oversized card for a lovely lady who has just been blessed with a beautiful nephew Benjamin. I have used the yummy Marina Mist 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon on it. This was actually my starting point for the card. I them used the Timeless Type Big Shot Alphabet to put the name as requested on the card and i made a boat out of punches as an accent on the card.

I also made this second baby card using the Baby Tees wheel which i personalised with the Wonderful Favourites stamp set. The colours i used here are the new Daffodil Delight and Night of Navy which are great for any Parra Eels fan!!!
I have once again used the 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, this time in Daffodil Delight.

The third card i have to share with you is a card i made for a 1 year olds birthday party with the Choo Choo Stamp set coupled with Party This Way. I personalised the card again with the Big Shot Timeless Type Alphabet.

I can make cards for you specifically to your order or you can buy any of the cards that i show on my blog. Just email me at Christies_stamps@yahoo.com.au for details

Watercolour Fifth Avenue Floral

This is a card i taught at my watercolour class last week. It uses one of the flowers out of Fifth Avenue Floral which i have stamped on watercolour paper and coloured using a razzleberry re-inker and an aqua pen.
I decided on a monochromatic colour scheme with Rich Razzleberry and Very Vanilla. The background is the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder which i have sponged with Rich Razzleberry.
The sentiment is from the Perfect Punches stamp set and was punched out with the Wide Oval Punch.

Choo Choo Celebration

Choo Choo! Don't you just love this set? I do. It is just the essential little boys set. I made this quick card last week because i wanted to show how easy it was to put together a card using the Celebrations Quick Accents. Quick Accents are new in the 2010-2011 Ideas Book and Catalogue and true their name are incredibley quick to use on a project. Whether it is a card or a scrap page these die cut adhesive accents are great to use. There are 3 different styles of Quick Accents and i have used the Celebrations style which is full of fun colours for kids.
I have used a zig zag strip at the top of the card and then a large scallop circle which i have layered my Choo Choo train onto.
The greeting is from the Level Three Hostess set Occassional Quotes and the flags are a really cool trick that i saw whilst browsing the web. If you want to know how to do them you can visit my Demonstrator Business Website where i have put together a quick tutorial on this card.

Hope you all enjoy your holiday monday!
