Delightful Shimmer Paint Decoration

Ahhh you probably thought something was going on right when i hadn't posted today!!!
Well i just hadn't been organised to schedule a post. I have lots of cards to share with all the photos taken but no time to write posts.
But i have managed to get here tonight.

Here is a christmas card i made to try out making coloured shimmer paint. I tinted the frost white shimmer paint with Cherry Cobbler stampin ink refill and then used a sponge dauber to apply it to the stamp. I have used the Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper in the background with the Scallop Trim punch for decoration.
I have decorated the ornament with our gorgeous adhesive pearls!!!

Stay tuned on wednesday for a ripper of a special we have for you...

Pinking Hearts Anniversary - Sneak Peak Summer Mini

Here is another Sneak Peak from the upcoming Summer Mini Catalogue out next week on the 1st December.
This is a swap i created for Stampin' Connections. I have used the i {heart} Hearts and Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp sets and have used the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder for effects.
The colour scheme i have used is Concord Crush and Blushing Bride and it is really sweet and is becoming a go to colour combination for soft girly cards.
Anyway so what are the sneak peaks???? Can you see them????

It is the new Pinking Hearts Border Punch - really cute with little love hearts, it actually set the theme for the card. There is also one of the Bitty Buttons in there. These cute little clear buttons (that have matching punches) are fantastic, i already have ordered two packs!!!

Medallion Christmas - Regionals Swap

We had the Stampin' Up! Sydney Regionals last week and this is the card i made to swap. I made 30 or so of these cards. My aim for the swap was something that was easy to mass produce and perhaps help others with an idea of a card they could use for a christmas class or stamp a stack where you mass produce a card. These cards need to be kept fairly simple due to time limitations.
In fact this is a card that i am using in a Stamp A Stack this week. Hope those i swapped with liked it cause enjoyed recieving theirs.

The card does actually use 3 different stamp sets but they are ones that most Demonstrators will have. It uses the Medallion, Heard from the Heart and Printed Petals as well as the Big Shots Buttons die. The colour scheme is Pear Pizzaz and Cherry Cobbler which is a bit subtler that the strong combination of Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler that i have been using alot. It's a good alternative.

Christmas Stocking Pull Card with Sneak Peak

Another christmas creation and this one i really am quite fond of.
It is a christmas stocking pull card. I have seen a few of these out there in blog land and was inspred to create on of my own.
I free hand cut a stocking shape out of a folded A5 sheet of card stock. I have then embossed the front using Square Lattice textured impressions embossing folder which will be available in a ccouple of weeks in the Summer Mini Catalogue (out December 1).
I have then stuck the stocking together at the sides to create a pocket you can slide something in and out of at the top.
The topper is just some layered cardstock with some scraps of the Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper stuck on top as gifts?
Can you spot the other sneak peak? Yes it is the the 2 3/8" Scallop circle punch. I have layered a chrismtas greeting from the Perfect Punches set cut out with the Scallop Circle Punch.
So what do you think?

Delightful Decorations Pop Out Card

I told you i still had lots of christmas projects to share with you, especially cards.
This is one i made a while ago and it features a popped out decoration. Its a very simple card with a few layers.
It is really amazing the difference an embossed background can make.

Summer Mini Sneak Peak - Grunge Rock Swap Card

Well soon the Summer Mini catalogue will be here. I know, i know you feel like you are still trying to get your head around the New Ideas Book and Catalogue.... join the club but alas there are more new cool things to play with in the Summer Mini.

My favourite stamp set is the Grunge Rock stamp set. I think it is a great way to start filling the void for the young male selection and i have made a few cards with this set already (my newsletter readers will see i also have a new special offer on it in December). Another great thing is it can also be used for girls as there are alot of girls out there these days who are really into the music scene.

This is a swap card i created for the Inklings new mini catalogue swap. I have used various shades of Stampin' Up! blues - Not Quite Navy, Night of Navy, Marina Mist and Baja Breeze. I have also used both of my square punches and have done some distressing of the edges.
The guitar is actually stamped in Shimmer Paint which i have tinted with Marina Mist Classic Stampin Ink Refill.
The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments.
So what do you think? Are you looking forward to the Summer Mini? If you are one of my customers and would like a copy sent to you then email me at Christies_stamps@yahoo.com.au

Shimmer Girl Scrap Page

This is a page i made for the day we went to the Easter Show for Alyssa's birthday. I tried a couple of new things with this page. I used the Pendant Notes as a template to spray some Shimmer Paint (made into a mist with Isocal and Rich Razzleberry re inker) through. Have you noticed that the Pendant Note is the same image that appears in the Baroque Motifs set? I stamped the Baroque image layered it using the Cirlce Scissors.

I also died some of the Paper Flowers with Rich Razzleberry re inker.
There are so many things you can use re-inkers for other than re-inking your ink pads and i have been buying lots of them lately.

I have also made the title Shimmer by spraying the Shimmer Mist onto the letters that i have made with the Big Shot Timeless Type Alphabet

Christmas Blitz Day 7 - Christmas Keepsake Memory Book

For my last day of the Christmas Blitz i have a big one for you. This is a Christmas Keepsake Memory Book. The original template for this was a Becky Roberts U-Stamp Design and i changed bits of it to suit my needs.

It has a pouch holder and inside the holder is the album.

When you open up the album cover you have a space to store a CD or DVD (perhaps in the spirit of things a disc full of family photos as a gift to grandparents, family etc). You also have a place to write a special personal message.

You then open the album up and have lots of space for some special photos.

I ran this as a class and it was really popular. I actually have a couple extra of these books and if you would like to purchase one you can for $30 (not including postage)

Thanks for sharing this Christmas Blitz with me. I will be sharing other christmas ideas before the end of the year mixed in with my normal three posts a week. Hope to see you back.

Christmas Blitz Day 5 - Shimmer Snowmen

Well i promised a Christmas card without using my beloved Cherry Cobbler and here it is. This is actually the card i used at my last Stamp Club meeting to teach the bleaching technique. I stamped the snowmen from Holiday Lineup in Staz On Black Ink on Crumb Cake card stock and then used bleach in an Aquapainter to bleach the part of the image i wanted too.
I have sprayed Frost White shimmer paint dissolved in Isocol over the top note image as well as the bottom layer of the card (Baja Breeze). Did you know that you can make your own colour Shimmer mist with just a drop of re-inker, a drop of Shimmer Mist and some Isocol (rubbing alcohol) for a fraction of the cost of Glimmer Mist??? (cool huh).
The card is finished off with some of my favourite ribbon and a brad. The sentiment is from the Many Merry Messages set which is getting a real workout at this time of year.

So i mentioned stamp club and i wanted to share with you some of the great creations my ladies have been making. I give them a challenge each time we meet and the last challenge was anything Christmas.

Sue made two really great cards. I liked the Sweet Treat cup filled with Jaffas to make the 'O' in Joy, it was really cool and then Sue was on a creative streak and popped a 3D ornament through a punched hole in the front of her card. I thought that was quite innovative.

Sharlene made a table setting for Christmas. I really liked the idea of making a placemat with everyone's names on it. I thought that was really sweet. The ornaments from Delightful Decorations make a really great Christmas tree when put together.

Then Alison made a Christmas Banner. The amount of detail in this was amazing. Each Chipboard letter was mounted on a box. There were so many things in this banner - Designer Series Paper, Simply Scrappin Kit, Dazzlling Diamond Glitter, Chipboard, Ribbon, Punches. It was Accessory Heaven!

Christmas Blitz Day 4 - Santa's Stocking Bag Tag

This is an idea i got from the 2010-2011 Idea's Book and Catalogue (see i have told you it is full of wonderful inspiration).
I free hand cut a stocking shape from Cherry Cobbler card stock. I then dry embossed it using Petals-A-Plenty embossing folder. This folder on red just screams quilted fabric to me.
The Scallop edge punch was perfect for some fluffy white at the top of the stocking. It is then finished off with a Holly and Jolly Rub On layered on some punched card stock and finished with a ribbon. Really easy if you like cutting, and a great little tag for a christmas bag with lots of room to write on the back.

Stay tuned tomorrow for a card that does not use the colour Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive (i know i have been overloading you a bit on these haven't i?)

Christmas Blitz Day 3 - Movers and Shapers Luminaria and Box

Today i have a Christmas Luminaria to share with you as well as a Christmas Box.
Anyone who follows my blog knows that i love my Movers and Shapers die. It is so versatile and quick and easy.
I have used my Movers and Shapers die to make this great Luminaria from Marina Mist card stock. I have used the Holiday Windows to cut out the Dove which i have covered with Vellum. With a little battery operated tea light in it the vellum will create a really soft glow which will look great.
I have added a peice of Whisper White Satin Ribbon and a brad from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge for decoration.

My second project for the day is the same thing! I have just changed the colours and decoration and added a lid and it is now a box i can fill with choccies. A great gift for a co-worker or teacher.

Christmas Blitz 2 - Day 1 - Forest Friends Rudolph

I still had so much Christmas stuff to show off after my last Christmas Blitz that i decided to do another. So tune in for the next 7 days to see some more great christmas ideas.

I am starting off with a case of a favourite card i made last year. I really loved this card and so i made it in the new colours. This card is Pear Pizzaz, Real Red and Early Espresso.
I have sponged En Francias in the background to give a weathered look, i have then used some textured Real Red cardstock as a background cross mat behind my Forest Friends images. The reindeer is Early Esspresso with a Real Red dot on his nose and the tree i have coloured in with Stampin' Write Markers (Real Red, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie).
I have finished it off with the Real Red striped ribbon. This is my favourite way to showcase this ribbon, in a simple knot.

Christmas Blitz Day 1 - Christmas Tag Box

Welcome to my my second Christmas Ideas Blitz. I enjoyed the first one so much and still had so much christmas inspiration running through my veins that i decided to do another one.
Today i have a christmas tag box to share with you. The box template itself was a U-Stamp project and then i have just made a whole heap of gift tags and note cards to fill the box.
I have used the Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper which is my favourite paper for the season and then i have use the Gifted stamp set which is awesome for gift tags and for cards alike. I have also used the Holly & Jolly Rub Ons which are really nice. They rub on really well and co-ordinate with my favourite colours of the season Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive! I have also used a variety fo punches.

And now for the winner of a pack of handmade cards from my last Christmas Blitz........
Leanne D! Thanks for leaving a comment on my rub ons card, if you can email me your details i will pop the cards in the mail to you.

The offer is open for this Christmas Blitz too. Simply leave me a comment and you will go into the random draw for a pack of handmade cards. (Offer is only open to Australian residents who are not demonstrators thanks)

Hope you liked the Day 1. Stay tuned tomorrow for one of my favourite Christmas cards.

Delightful Decorations Pop Out Card

This Rose Red and Pear Pizzaz card uses one of the ornaments from the Delightful Decorations stamp set which has so far been one of the most popular sets of the new catalogue. The ornament has been punched out 3 times with an Ornament Punch and made into a 3D pop out. My upline Merryl made a magnificent card at the team weekend away by doing this (you should all hassle her to put it on her blog!). The ribbon thread from the Hodgepodge Hardware is the perfect top of the decoration highlighting the Tafetta Ribbon string.
The background is made with the new wheel Sassy Sparkles. I really love this wheel. I have used some Shimmer Paint in the centre of the circles in the Background. The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and is layered on a Modern Label punched out with Rose Red card stock.

So on monday i will start my second Christmas Blitz week with lots more projects to show you. I will also show you some lovely projects my stamp club made and daw the winner of my card candy comp from the last Christmas Blitz.

A bit of red Vintage

I have used a bit of black, white and red in this vintage style Vintage Vogue card. I love the combination of Cherry Cobbler and black and white don't you?

This card actually started with a scrap of Basic Black card stock and a strip of scrap Newsprint Designer Series Paper. I teamed it up with Cherry Cobbler and decided to use the Vintage Vogue stamp set and this card was born.

I have used a few of the tricks of vintage in this card. There are a few must have tools for vintage style cards. The first is a a distresser which i have used the distressing tool from the cutter kit. The second is a Colour Spritzer which i have used with both Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black markers over the top of the card.

For instructions on how to make this card visit my Demonstrator Business Website at www.christiewallace.stampinup.net
